Welcome to SECONDS, a site interested in exploring the history of food.  

There’s something interesting about the history of food. Everybody has to eat, after all. For as long as humans have been around, we’ve built elaborate rituals around what we put in our mouths, venturing far and wide in our quest for new and unusual ingredients.

On SECONDS we explore the history of food from around the globe. From fish sauce in the ancient world to Kit Kits in Japan, there’s something here for every palate. Bon appétit.
